But the embattled former NBC host and the divisive comic, who have savaged each other publicly, appear to have made nice.
Spies tell Page Six that Kelly — who slammed Wolf as a “crass comedian” after her notorious White House Correspondents’ Dinner appearance — was at the Comedy Cellar on Saturday night to celebrate her birthday. And we’re told that in spite of their history, Kelly went over to congratulate Wolf after her set.
One source even said that Kelly gave Wolf her number and suggested they get lunch together, but a source close to Wolf insists the pair chatted cordially for about 30 seconds and definitely did not make plans.
The women have been pretty rough on each other in the past. After Wolf famously branded White House flack Sarah Huckabee Sanders a liar at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in April, Kelly said on her (now-defunct) show, “Megyn Kelly Today”: “I hate this event. They had a crass comedian go out there and rip Sarah Huckabee Sanders to shreds, feet away from the woman while she was sitting there, [and] compared her to the woman from ‘The Handmaid’s Tale,’ Aunt Lydia.”
Meanwhile, during an appearance on “The Daily Show” after Kelly interviewed Vladimir Putin, Wolf joked that Kelly is “conniving” and “trying to manipulate the American public.”
We’re told Kelly and her husband, Douglas Brunt, along with some pals, had gone to the Greenwich Village comedy institution to see Ryan Reiss — who had done warm-up work for her NBC show — perform.
Perhaps Kelly is trying to assuage old enemies amid her exit negotiations with NBC after the controversial host’s ouster due to the outrage over her comments about blackface.
A rep for Wolf declined to comment, and a rep for Kelly couldn’t be reached.
